Yes. The film bonds to the inside face of existing smooth glass, including windows, partitions, doors and glass walls. No glass replacement or demolition is required.
Smart film is applied to glass that is already installed, making it the faster and lower-cost retrofit option. Laminated smart glass has the PDLC layer sealed between two glass panes and suits new partitions and new-build projects. We supply both.
Frosted glass film is permanently frosted. Smart film switches between clear and frosted on demand, so the glass stays clear when privacy is not needed and frosts only when it is.
Electrochromic glass tints darker over several minutes to reduce glare and heat, but stays see-through. PDLC smart film switches in under 0.1 seconds between clear and frosted for full visual privacy. For privacy, PDLC is the right technology.
